On 24 and 25 February 2016, 14 Heads/Deputy Heads of Departments related to the General Administration for Borders and Crossings (GABC) discovered and debated on leadership styles, management roles and decision-making. This “Leadership and Change Management” training was designed and run by the EUBAM Human Resources Management and Leadership Adviser at the Palestinian Civil Police Academy in Jericho.
Embedded in the strategic setting of the Joint Road Map signed between the GABC and EUBAM in August 2015, this training was focused on the state of the play of international leadership approaches. It enabled managers from Customs, Civil Police, Civil Affairs and the three Intelligence Services to self-assess their own preferred leadership style, confront the practices of their respective chains of command and develop common ground for comprehensive border management.
