As the result of an agreement facilitated by EUBAM between the Government of Israel and the Palestinian Authority the Rafah Crossing Point (RCP) will be open today 1st August. The crossing will be open from 08.30 Hrs to 19.30 Hrs to allow humanitarian traffic from Gaza Strip to Egypt only.
The Rafah Border Crossing has been closed for normal operations since 25th June. EUBAM efforts to resulted in it being open on 18 and 19 July for humanitarian traffic from Egypt to the Gaza Strip band over 5,000 people crossed. EUBAM monitors remain on permanent standby and ready to open the crossing at short notice.
