Senior members of European Union Border Assistance Mission For the Rafah Crossing Point (EUBAM RAFAH) and nine managers from the Palestinian General Administration of Borders and Crossings (GABC) concluded a study trip to Romania to view facilities and procedures for managing borders and crossings.
The four-day study trip focused on Bucharest International Airport, land border with Moldova at Galati and sea border towards the Black Sea at Constantia, thereby covering Schengen, Non-Schengen, airport, sea- and land borders.
The Romanian experiences on border procedures in line with its preparatory measures to join the Schengen Area served as a useful inspiration for the continued cooperation between EUBAM and GABC in preparing for operating the Rafah Border Crossing, would the political and security conditions allow.
