On 3 and 4 April 2017, EUBAM Rafah successfully delivered a training on Human Rights for 22 GABC Officers from central departments and associated authorities.
During the two-day training, held in Jericho, the instructor presented an overview of the fundamental human rights with regard to the international law, the HR mechanisms and the HR in Palestine.
The activities were then focused on the specific aspects related to the respect of fundamental rights during the daily work of GABC Staff at the borders. The final part of the training was dedicated to a practical exercise aiming at increasing GABC staff awareness on the importance of the application of human rights principles during border checks.
The training was successfully achieved due to the support of the EUPOL COPPS Human Rights Expert who participated in the training as an instructor.
