Join us in celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

Sustainable peace, development and security are possible only when grounded upon respect for human rights, democracy and rule of law.

As part of the EU family, EU Border Assistance Mission for the Rafah Crossing Point (EUBAM Rafah) is committed to promoting and protecting human rights throughout our actions; and our Mission Members take human rights into account in all engagement with the Palestinian Civil Police and the Palestinian Justice Institutions.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; the first global proclamation of human rights and one of the first major achievements of the United Nations. The Declaration remains the cornerstone of international human rights law and its first article captures its very essence: "All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights".

All over the world Human Rights Defenders stands up to promote and protect our universal human rights. The European Union continues to support Human Rights Defenders using political and financial action.
