Two experts from The European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) delivered a training on fighting cross-border irregularities and frauds for 24 participants from the General Administration of Borders and Crossings (GABC), border agencies and the Anti-Corruption Commission in Jericho.
The three-day event which was concluded on November 29, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the participants on fighting cross-border irregularities and frauds. It also tackled the opening and closing processes of OLAF investigations in addition to information analysis processes and the different investigative tools.
The experts discussed the best practices for fighting corruption and exchanged information on relevant matters. Similar activities run by EUBAM will enable GABC to carry out independent investigations on border related fraud and corruption.
OLAF is the only EU body mandated to detect, investigate and stop fraud with EU funds.
