EUBAM Rafah successfully completed a course on leadership and management capabilities, taking place from 18 to 21 December and targeting a group of General Administration for Borders and Crossings (GABC) female officers embedded in a career development plan.
The same officers already attended EUBAM-facilitated training courses focused on project management and communication skills. This latest training course introduced them to various concepts of leadership and effective management.
During the training, many examples related to effective leadership and women leadership role models were discussed. The trainees also participated in different team building exercises, which gave them an additional opportunity for further strengthening of the knowledge gained during the course lessons.
Though the numbers of women in leadership positions within the Palestinian Authority structures still need to be increased, EUBAM believes that small steps like this course are solid stones that help to pave the way for improvement.
