EUBAM Rafah Begins 16 Days of Activism: Unite for a Future Free from Violence Against Women and Girls

Break the Silence. End the Violence.

"We need to foster a culture where violence against women and girls is not tolerated, where survivors feel supported to come forwards, and where perpetrators are held accountable" - says EUBAM Rafah Head of Mission Nataliya Apostolova, in support of victims of violence alongside leaders from EU Civilian Crisis Management Missions deployed around the world.

At the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the European Union Border Assistance Mission For the Rafah Crossing Point (EUBAM Rafah) launches its annual 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, under the theme “Unite to End Violence Against Women and Girls 2024.” This global campaign, running from November 25 to December 10, highlights the urgent need to combat gender-based violence, promote equality, and protect the rights of women and girls.

EUBAM Rafah stands firmly alongside its Palestinian partners, including law enforcement agencies, in addressing domestic violence, sexual violence related to conflict, and discrimination. The Mission calls on everyone to recognize that security begins at home and to work toward a society where every woman and girl can live free from violence and fear.

Join us in advocating for a world free of gender-based violence.
