As an initial step in the process of conducting a Training Needs Assessment (TNA) for the different agencies operating under the Palestinian General Administration for Border and Crossings (GABC), EUBAM Rafah has piloted a full day session with the top-management of GABC.
The meeting took place on 29 March at the Oasis Hotel in Jericho and involved Department Heads and Heads of border agencies assigned to GABC. It was kicked-off by opening remarks by Guenther Freisleben, Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission (EUBAM) in Rafah and Iyad Salameh, Head of the International Relations Department of the GABC.
In preparation of the main topic – the debate on and assessment of training needs for the different agencies operating at the borders – the Head of Mission provided a brief state of play including the Mission’s accomplishments during previous mandates as well as forthcoming plans and challenges.
